Whereas, the Associated Students of UC Irvine (ASUCI) is a direct member campus of the United States Student Association (USSA) and, 

Whereas, USSA is a valuable partner to UC Irvine students as it fights campaigns nationally regarding prevention of sexual assault, increasing accessibility to higher education, and reauthorizing the Higher Education Act just this year alone, and 

Whereas, USSA has historically provided great advantages to students at UC Irvine, including but not limited to fighting for increases to the Pell Grant, and 

Whereas, USSA dues are based upon enrollment of undergraduate students per year, at a rate of $0.50 per student, and 

Whereas, the then Executive Vice President-Elect underestimated undergraduate enrollment for the 2014-2015 school year during budget allocations, and

Whereas, the initial amount allocated for USSA dues was $11,328 for 22,656 undergraduate students, and

Whereas, USSA and the Office of the Executive Vice President came to the realization that UC Irvine actually has about 23,375 undergraduate students enrolled (2013 enrollment numbers from UC Irvine's Office of Institutional Research), and

Whereas, $0.50 per 23,375 students is actually $11,687.50, $329.50 less than what was initially allocated for USSA dues, and

Whereas, we have a robust budget for the National Grassroots Legislative Conference, and

Whereas, ASUCI has a responsibility to its constituents to prevent from deficit spending, and

Let it be resolved that ASUCI move $329.50 from the USSA Lobby Conference budget (account 6441-7160) to Membership Dues (6436-7160) to pay the full amount owed to USSA for membership dues.
