REQUEST FOR ACTION BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL 
 
All requests may be typed and submitted to the Executive Vice President no later 5:00 p.m. Thursday in order to be included in the agenda for the following Tuesday. The Executive Vice President reserves the right to delay the Request for Action to a later Council session if the Executive Vice President feels the agenda for the next schedule meeting is full.

Synopsis: Advocacy Survey Incentives
Date of Presentation: February 10th, 2015
 

 Whereas,  one of the goals of the Advocacy Committee and Legislative Council is to get in contact with constituents in order to better understand their concerns, and

 

Whereas the advocacy Committee desires to identify what constituents would like the Committee to focus on, and

 

Whereas a student completed survey will provide valuable incite into the needs to our constituents, and

 

Whereas the survey has been created and prepared by the Advocacy Committee, and

 

Whereas the survey has been readied for distribution by the Legislative Council Ex-Officio GUSH Representative Matthew Carlson to the different housing communities

 

Whereas an incentive is needed to ensure a high response rate for the survey, and

 

Where as the hall or building unit that produces the highest response rate will receive food and a social hosted by members of the Advocacy committee, and

 

And whereas such an event will increase the Councils presence to members of the housing communities,

 

Let it be resolved, that $100 will be taken

 

out of Council Unallocated Account (#7115-6501) for the folling appropriations:

Pizza totalling no more than $60

Drinks totalling no more than $20

Snacks totalling no more than $20

 

Let it further be resolved that Legislative Council Members show their support by attending the event and/or helping with the preparations.

 

Let it finally be resolved that the unused funds be returned to Council Unallocated account #7115- 6501 at the conclusion of the event.
