All requests may be typed and submitted to the Executive Vice President no later 5:00 p.m. Thursday in order to be included in the agenda for the following Tuesday. The Executive Vice President reserves the right to delay the Request for Action to a later Council session if the Executive Vice President feels the agenda for the next schedule meeting is full. |

| Synopsis: Legislative support for Food Pantry | |

Whereas the SOAR Food Pantry and the Emergency Food Box Program is a new initiative by the Student Outreach and Retention Center with the goal of reducing student hunger by providing non-perishable foods.
Whereas the Food Pantry is located at the SOAR Center and will serve all students who are in need of food.
Whereas the Food Pantry is a new initiative that is vital for the health of UC Irvine’s student body. It remains UC Irvine’s only program to reduce hunger on campus.
Whereas the Food Pantry is maintained by SOAR staff and UCI Global Food Initiative Fellows. A predominant task for Fellows is finding financial security for the Pantry to ensure adequate food stocking
Whereas there is a substantial remainder in the legislative unallocated fund. It is the council's duty to ensure this fund is used to the students benefits.
Let it be resolved that $1500 from the ASUCI Legislative Council Unallocated Account (7115-6501) be transferred to the SOAR FOOD Pantry and Emergency Food Box Program to purchase non-perishable foods in bulk
