All requests may be typed and submitted to the President of the Senate no later 5:00 p.m. Thursday in order to be included in the agenda for the following Tuesday. The President of the Senate reserves the right to delay the Request for Action to a later Senate session if the President of the Senate feels the agenda for the next schedule meeting is full. |

| WHEREAS, ASUCI Senators are encouraged to engage their constituents through programs which serve to enrich the lives and experiences of the students at UC Irvine and the surrounding community and
WHEREAS, the School of Social Sciences will host their 10th annual Hot Topics debate onThursday May 11th
WHEREAS, the Hot Topics event is an evening event where the Dean’s Ambassador’s Council from the School of Social Sciences hosts a debate on current contentious issues that is open to all UC Irvine students
WHEREAS, this year professors Mark Petracca and William Schonfeld’s debate will center around the concept of “Alternative Facts” made popular by the current administration
WHEREAS, such events will help increase the visibility of both the ASUCI Senate, Dean’s Ambassadors Council, and the School of Social Sciences
WHEREAS, the following costs are anticipated for this event:
Catering...............$150.00 Grand Total....................$150.
Let it be resolved that $150.00 be withdrawn from the Senate Unallocated Account #6501-7115 and be used to reimburse the Dean’s Ambassador Council, with any excess money being returned to the aforementioned account. |
