REQUEST FOR ACTION BY THE ASUCI SENATE 
 
All requests may be typed and submitted to the President of the Senate no later 5:00 p.m. Thursday in order to be included in the agenda for the following Tuesday. The President of the Senate reserves the right to delay the Request for Action to a later Senate session if the President of the Senate feels the agenda for the next schedule meeting is full.

Synopsis: Live Stream Equipment Reimbursement

Whereas, through an implementation of a livestream system, Senate meetings become more accessible and transparent to the public,

 

Whereas, Facebook Live provides a cost free software for its members to engage in live streaming, whether it be a personal profile, public page, and so forth,

 

Whereas, Facebook also provides another cost free feature to download livestreams, such that can be posted on the ASUCI website for additional outreach and archiving means,

 

Whereas, livestream equipment today can range from a simple smartphone to a large studio setup containing a camera, computers, software and so forth,

 

Whereas, Senator Boparai has invested in a 32GB 6th generation iPod, a Rode smartphone microphone, a Rode patch cable, a Sunpak tripod, a 10 foot iPhone Charging Cable, and Ztylus smartphone to tripod adaptor, as a cost effective method to livestreaming,

 

Whereas, the 32GB 6th generation iPod and the Sunpak tripod were purchased at Best Buy for the cost of $249.96,

 

Whereas, the Rode smartphone microphone, Rode patch cable, and Ztylus smartphone grip to tripod mount were purchased on Amazon for the cost of $108.79,

 

Whereas, the 10 foot iPhone Charging Cable was purchased at Marshalls for the cost of $16.15,

 

Therefore, let it be resolved that $374.90 be reimbursed to Senator Boparai from the 6501-7805 Senate Unallocated account,

 

Therefore, let it be resolved that when Senator Boparai has been reimbursed, Senate will then assume ownership of all the livestream equipment mentioned above,

 

Therefore, let it also be resolved that the Public Information Committee will be responsible for managing the livestream each Senate meeting once Senate has assumed ownership of the livestream equipment.
