All requests may be typed and submitted to the Executive Vice President no later 5:00 p.m. Thursday in order to be included in the agenda for the following Tuesday. The Executive Vice President reserves the right to delay the Request for Action to a later Council session if the Executive Vice President feels the agenda for the next schedule meeting is full.

Synopsis: Accessibility of the ASUCI website

Whereas, ASUCI has the social responsibility to be accessible to all undergraduates at UC Irvine, and

Whereas, ASUCI?s website currently fails multiple web accessibility standards, and

Whereas, this makes ASUCI?s website not navigable to blind students who might wish to visit the site, and

Whereas, ASUCI ought to have a policy ensuring that the Webmaster for the ASUCI website makes accessibility a priority in their web design,

Therefore, let it be resolved that ASUCI shall expect the Webmaster to work in conjunction with the Disability Services Center to ensure that ASUCI?s website is as accessible to all undergraduate students;

Finally, let it be resolved that changes to the current ASUCI website to ensure accessibility be made as soon as possible.
