All requests may be typed and submitted to the Executive Vice President no later 5:00 p.m. Thursday in order to be included in the agenda for the following Tuesday. The Executive Vice President reserves the right to delay the Request for Action to a later Council session if the Executive Vice President feels the agenda for the next schedule meeting is full. |

| Synopsis: Support for Keeping Anthill Pub Operated by The Associated Graduate Students | |

| Whereas the Anthill Pub is a business that has been run continuously by the Associated Graduate Students since 1993 and, Whereas the Anthill Pub serves as a source of revenue for the Associated Graduate Students, with monies set aside for graduate student projects and, Considering AGS received its liquor license as the result of negotiations between itself, the California Department of Alcohol Beverage Control, and the UCI administration, Considering that AGS has maintained this license in good standing during the entire time it has been held, Considering AGS has run the Pub as a social meeting place for the students, staff and faculty of the UCI campus and has attempted to keep its product prices in line with student needs, Considering over 2,000 members of the UCI community have signed petitions to keep the Pub operated solely by the Associated Graduate Students, Considering that the UCI Department of Student Affairs has offered to draft a memorandum of understanding between its department and AGS which secures for the latter a space for operating the Anthill Pub in the renovated Student Center, Let it therefore be resolved that AGS will continue to be the sole party operating the Anthill Pub, when it is moved to its new location in the renovated Student Center. Let it finally be resolved that a copy of this legislation be sent to Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs Manuel Gomez. |
