Synopsis: Request for Appointment of Interim Executive Director
Date of Presentation: 4/12/2005

Whereas the position of Executive Director of Student Government has been vacant for one year, and

Whereas the position of Executive Director is vital for Student Government to provide goods and services by ASUCI and AGS, and

Whereas the Student Government Elected Officers deem that the lack of an Executive Director has hindered the ability of the Department of Student Government to provide goods and services to students, and

Whereas Student Government?s unique administrative and fiscal structure would demand an individual who is thoroughly familiar with Student Government and has extensive experience dealing with the department?s internal workings and personnel, should an appointment be made to fill the position of Executive Director, and

Whereas Lance MacLean?s 23 years of experience and knowledge of working at ASUCI is the most of any employee within and outside of Student Government,

Therefore, let it be resolved that ASUCI formally request that Lance MacLean or an individual internal to ASUCI be appointed to the position of Interim Executive Director, and

Let it also be resolved that Lance MacLean or an individual internal to ASUCI be appointed to the position of Interim Executive Director with the understanding that the appointment will be temporary per statutes and limitations set by University Policy regarding interim standing, and

Let it finally be resolved that a copy of this legislation be sent to the Chancellor and the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs.
