REQUEST FOR ACTION BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL 
 
All requests may be typed and submitted to the Executive Vice President no later 5:00 p.m. Thursday in order to be included in the agenda for the following Tuesday. The Executive Vice President reserves the right to delay the Request for Action to a later Council session if the Executive Vice President feels the agenda for the next schedule meeting is full.

Synopsis: Recommendations to next EVP

Whereas, several members of ASUCI this academic quarter proposed to make revisions to the ASUCI elections code and Constitution, and

Whereas, no revisions were successfully made, and

Whereas, ASUCI’s Legislative and Executive Council have little returning members, and

Whereas, members of the current Legislative Council have believe that these matters should be revisited,

Therefore, let it be resolved that it be reccommended to next years’ Executive Vice President, Zach Avallone, that he quickly assemble a committee, along witht the Legislative Council Committee on Rules, to consider revisions to the ASUCI Constitution, Bylaws, and Elections Code,

Let it further be resolved, that ASUCI recommends that the elections code committee consider reforms such as affirmative voting or preferential voting to prevent the spoiler effect that may have affected this years’ ASUCI President and EVP elections.

Finally, let it be resolved that ASUCI recommends that these committees should consider the issue of the Recall, Initiative, and Referendum provisions of the ASUCI Constitution.
