All requests may be typed and submitted to the Executive Vice President no later 5:00 p.m. Thursday in order to be included in the agenda for the following Tuesday. The Executive Vice President reserves the right to delay the Request for Action to a later Council session if the Executive Vice President feels the agenda for the next schedule meeting is full. |

| Synopsis: ASUCI American Flag Act | |

| Whereas the American flag is the official symbol of this great nation, Whereas ASUCI is a patriotic organization that holds a deep respect towards this great nation and the flag that represents it, Whereas the American flag is not currently displayed during Legislative Council meetings, Whereas the prominent display of the American flag during Legislative Council meetings would display honor and respect towards the UCI students that have, or are currently serving in, the armed forces, Therefore let it be resolved that the American flag be prominently displayed at all Legislative Council meetings, and that the following amendment be added to the ASUCI By-Laws:
Article VI 3. An American flag shall be prominently displayed at all Legislative Council meetings.
Let if further be resolved that this legislation be enacted in honor of the students of the University of California, Irvine that have risked their lives to defend our country, and our freedom, by serving in the armed forces. |
