REQUEST FOR ACTION BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL 
 
All requests may be typed and submitted to the Executive Vice President no later 5:00 p.m. Thursday in order to be included in the agenda for the following Tuesday. The Executive Vice President reserves the right to delay the Request for Action to a later Council session if the Executive Vice President feels the agenda for the next schedule meeting is full.

Synopsis: Length of Thursday Meetings

Whereas, Article VI of the Legislative Council By-Laws clearly state that Legislative Council meetings shall be held Tuesday and Thursday from 5 pm until 7 pm each academic quarter; and

 

Whereas, It is one of the goals of Legislative Council to be proactive in promoting the welfare and the interests of the undergraduate students for which they serve; and

 

Whereas, Legislative Council had a retreat with Incoming and Outgoing Legislative Council members on May 23, 2010; and

 

Whereas, It was deemed necessary for Thursday meetings to become more efficient by using the full time allotted by not only completing past agendas but to begin a more active role in setting future goals and advocacy issues,

 

Therefore, Let it be resolved, effective Fall 2010, once Legislative Council’s agenda is completed on either Tuesday or Thursday, Legislative Council use any time remaining until 6:50 p.m. to work on future goals and advocacy issues.
