REQUEST FOR ACTION BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL 
 
All requests may be typed and submitted to the Executive Vice President no later 5:00 p.m. Thursday in order to be included in the agenda for the following Tuesday. The Executive Vice President reserves the right to delay the Request for Action to a later Council session if the Executive Vice President feels the agenda for the next schedule meeting is full.

Synopsis: Public Information Committee Press Release

Whereas there is a need for legislative council to keep the student body informed about what it is working on, and

Whereas the student body needs a reliable source for information regarding ASUCI, and

Whereas it is the goal of the Public Information Committee to dessiminate information to the general student body, and

Whereas the media is an effective avenue for reaching the student body and larger community, and

Whereas it is necessary for the media to print complete and accurate information regarding ASUCI events and issues,

Let it therefore be resolved that the Public Information Committee be responsible for creating and distributing a press release to the media on a need-to-need basis,

Let it further be resolved that the following amendment be adopted into the ASUCI Legislative Council By-Laws

XIII. Public Information COmmittee

E. Create and distribute press-releases on a need-to-need basis
