All requests may be typed and submitted to the Executive Vice President no later 5:00 p.m. Thursday in order to be included in the agenda for the following Tuesday. The Executive Vice President reserves the right to delay the Request for Action to a later Council session if the Executive Vice President feels the agenda for the next schedule meeting is full. |

| Whereas, the ASUCI Constitution, Article IX, Section A states “1. Control of all elections and related activities shall rest with the Election Commissioner, as empowered by the Election Code which shall be subject to the approval of the Legislative Council. The Elections Commission shall be chaired by the Executive Vice-President and shall consist of the Elections Commissioner and three (3) Deputy Commissioners, nominated by the Executive Vice-President and approved by a majority vote of all the voting members of the Legislative Council present.” Whereas, applications have been distributed extensively for ASUCI Office of the Executive Vice President commissioner positions with over one week accepting applications, Whereas, interviews have been conducted for the position of Elections Commissioner, Whereas, fall elections, as designated by the Elections Code will be Fall Quarter, Week 8, Whereas, the Fall Quarter elections timeline has been distributed and publicized online, Whereas, an Elections Commissioner is necessary for the next steps in terms of ASUCI Elections, Whereas, John Kim’s interview for Elections Commissioner showed an extensive knowledge of the ASUCI Elections Code and intent to clarify the Elections Code for students on campus, Whereas, John Kim has shown commitment to the principles of ASUCI through his involvement in the Office of the President and the Office of Student Services, as well as a shuttle bus driver, Be it resolved that ASUCI Legislative Council appoint John Kim as Elections Commissioner in the Office of the Executive Vice President for Fall Elections 2009. |
