REQUEST FOR ACTION BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL 
 
All requests may be typed and submitted to the Executive Vice President no later 5:00 p.m. Thursday in order to be included in the agenda for the following Tuesday. The Executive Vice President reserves the right to delay the Request for Action to a later Council session if the Executive Vice President feels the agenda for the next schedule meeting is full.

Synopsis: Clarify the Elections Code

Whereas the Elections Code has many inconsistencies,

Whereas John Kim, Elections Commissioner, has thoroughly read and pointed out these inconsistencies,

Whereas the Elections Code should be as consistent as possible, 

Whereas Article VII, Section A, Number 7 states that “The deadline to file an official complaint form shall be the Friday of Elections Week by 4:00pm.”

Whereas Article XX, Section G, states that “Official Complaint Forms must be submitted online no later than Sunday at 5:00pm following the Elections Week. After this time no complaints shall be accepted.”

Be it resolved that Article XX, Section G be changed to say “Official Complaint Forms must be submitted online no later than the specified day of the week in Article VII: Timeline. After this time no complaints shall be accepted.”

Be it further resolved that the ASUCI Elections Commissioner shall be responsible for revising the Elections Code document, emailing all candidates, and placing the updated version on the ASUCI website.
