REQUEST FOR ACTION BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL 
 
All requests may be typed and submitted to the Executive Vice President no later 5:00 p.m. Thursday in order to be included in the agenda for the following Tuesday. The Executive Vice President reserves the right to delay the Request for Action to a later Council session if the Executive Vice President feels the agenda for the next schedule meeting is full.

Synopsis: Elections Code Revision

Whereas the Elections Code currently mandates that the elections packets are due at noon on Friday of the respective week of the quarter,

 

Whereas, applications for various community leadership positions at the University of California, Irvine (UC Irvine) have deadlines at 5pm,

 

Whereas it is the responsibility of the Associated Students of the University of California, Irvine to encourage and provide opportunities for all students interested in applying for elected positions,

 

Let it be resolved that the Elections Code be edited to make future elections packets due at 5pm of the respective deadline.
