REQUEST FOR ACTION BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL 
 
All requests may be typed and submitted to the Executive Vice President no later 5:00 p.m. Thursday in order to be included in the agenda for the following Tuesday. The Executive Vice President reserves the right to delay the Request for Action to a later Council session if the Executive Vice President feels the agenda for the next schedule meeting is full.

Synopsis: Legislative Council Transparency

Whereas there is a need for legislative council to keep the student body informed about what it is working on, and

 

Whereas it is in the best interest of the UCI Student body to have complete and unobstructed access to ASUCI proceedings,

 

Whereas the student body needs a reliable source for information regarding ASUCI, and

 

Whereas the media is an effective avenue for reaching the student body and larger community, and

 

Whereas it is necessary for the media to relate complete and accurate information regarding ASUCI events and issues to the student body,

 

Let it therefore be resolved that the representatives of Legislative Council be responsible for creating and distributing a media source outlet through already popular avenues in which students can be privy to the dealings and ongoings of ASUCI Legislative Council.
