Item Number: 112 Legislation Number (B: Bill, R: Resolution): R45-92
Author:   Braun   Second:  Sharma
Synopsis: Reaffirming the Governing Documents
Date of Presentation: 04.20.10

Whereas, through recent investigation into the ASUCI archives it has become apparent that the organization has been operating off of an incorrect version of the ASUCI Constitution and Judicial Board Policies & Procedures,

Whereas, elections results from the 2001 Spring Elections indicate that the ASUCI Constitution was successfully amended by a 2/3 vote of over 20% of the student body,

Whereas, Legislative Council bill B39-64 “ASUCI Judicial Board Policies and Procedures Revisions” passed on June 1st, 2004 with a vote of 12-0-3,

Whereas, it has been a several years since these measures were implemented and ASUCI has been operating off of the incorrect documents for at least two years,

Let it therefore be resolved that Legislative Council affirm that the version of the ASUCI Constitution amended by the student body in 2001 and the version of the Judicial Board Policies & Procedures that was passed by Legislative Council in 2004 are the correct governing documents,

Let it finally be resolved that the Rules Committee ensure that these documents are immediately updated on the ASUCI website.
