REQUEST FOR ACTION BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL 
 
All requests may be typed and submitted to the Executive Vice President no later 5:00 p.m. Thursday in order to be included in the agenda for the following Tuesday. The Executive Vice President reserves the right to delay the Request for Action to a later Council session if the Executive Vice President feels the agenda for the next schedule meeting is full.

Synopsis: Creation of a UC Items Advisory Board

 Whereas, UC Items is intended to serves the diverse needs of the campus community by providing discount services, selling merchandise that appeals to campus demographics and ensuring excellent customer service, and

 

Whereas, UC Items is a business owned an operated by ASUCI, and

Whereas, students should be involved in the process of deciding what merchandise and services UC Items should offer, and

Whereas, students should also have the opportunity to review the UC Items budget, regularly review earnings reports and be consulted on business contracts, and

Whereas, an official body of students who are required to meet on a regular basis would help facilitate this oversight,

Let it be resolved that ASUCI establish the UC Items Advisory Board to provide student input on business decisions and review finances, and

Let it further be resolved that ASUCI approve the Guidelines of the UC Items Advisory Board to ensure the effective operation of the Board, and 

Let it finally be resolved that this document shall be posted on the ASUCI website with the rest of the governing documents.
