All requests may be typed and submitted to the Executive Vice President no later 5:00 p.m. Thursday in order to be included in the agenda for the following Tuesday. The Executive Vice President reserves the right to delay the Request for Action to a later Council session if the Executive Vice President feels the agenda for the next schedule meeting is full.

Synopsis: Support of Global Sustainability Major's Creation

Whereas sustainability in the classroom is a fairly recent concept,
Whereas it has been the recent campuswide effort to promote it among our future generation of UCI students,
Whereas, we have a Global Sustainability Minor, an academic discipline that requires classes from Biological Sciences, Social Sciences or Social Ecology, Physical Sciences or Engineering, and a three quarter Global Sustainability Senior Seminar,

Whereas this engaging set of courses will produce global leaders who are ready to work in various aspects to help solve these modern day phenomenon,
Let it be resolved that students involved in this loosely labeled sustainability coalition propose creating a Global Sustainability Major, which can more deeply focus on these issues.
Let it further be resolved that Legislative Council support the spirit and intent of this cause.
