REQUEST FOR ACTION BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL 
 
All requests may be typed and submitted to the Executive Vice President no later 5:00 p.m. Thursday in order to be included in the agenda for the following Tuesday. The Executive Vice President reserves the right to delay the Request for Action to a later Council session if the Executive Vice President feels the agenda for the next schedule meeting is full.

Synopsis: ASUCI Office of Information Technology Assistant Liaison

Whereas it is important to maintain an ongoing and consistent means of communication by appointing a representative from Legislative Council to be a liaison between the Legislative Council and the ASUCI Office of Information Technology

 

Whereas we need to ensure a healthy transition of the Information Technology Liaison position from quarter-to-quarter,

 

Whereas the ASUCI Office of Information Technology Assistant Liaison will assist the ASUCI OIT Liaison with the necessary tasks and duties in order to learn how to coordinate between OIT and Legislative Council in a cohesive manner,

 

Whereas the ASUCI OIT Assistant Liaison shall not impend on the main responsibilities of the ASUCI OIT Liaison and act only as an assistant to learn and assist when needed,

 

Let it therefore be resolved that Legislative Council amend the ASUCI Bylaws to reflect the amendments listed below [edits in brackets and italicized]:

 

B. Council Provisions

          2. The Legislative Council shall elect an ASUCI Information Technology Liaison [and an ASUCI Office of Information Technology Assistant Liaison] from amongst themselves at the first meeting of every quarter by a majority vote of Legislative Council. The ASUCI Information Technology Liaison [Assistant Liaison] shall serve for that quarter and assume all responsibilities enumerated in the ASUCI Bylaws. In the event that this position becomes vacant, the Legislative Council shall elect, by majority vote at their next official meeting, a new ASUCI Information Technology Liaison from amongst themselves to serve for the remainder of that quarter.

               a. ASUCI Information Technology job description and duties:

                      1) Serves as the official liaison between Legislative Council and the ASUCI Office of Information Technology

                      2) Collects all council members' contact info, including names, respective positions, emails, phone numbers, [photographs, biographical information], and office hours

                      3) Submits the aforementioned contact info to all members of Legislative Council and to the Information Technology Manager for upload to the ASUCI website

                      4) Assists the ASUCI Office of Information Technology in facilitating the requests and needs of Legislative Council

 

Let it finally be resolved that the ASUCI Bylaws be immediately updated to reflect these changes.
