REQUEST FOR ACTION BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL 
 
All requests may be typed and submitted to the Executive Vice President no later 5:00 p.m. Thursday in order to be included in the agenda for the following Tuesday. The Executive Vice President reserves the right to delay the Request for Action to a later Council session if the Executive Vice President feels the agenda for the next schedule meeting is full.

Synopsis: Appointment of Chief of Staff to the Office of the Executive Vice President

Whereas, the Office of the Executive Vice President has not had a Chief of Staff over the summer and the first 6 weeks of Fall Quarter,

Whereas, the original candidate for the position of Chief of Staff resigned prior to confirmation in the Fall Quarter of 2010,

Whereas, the Executive Vice President has had open applications for at least five weeks in the Fall Quarter of 2010 and has reviewed candidates based on many qualifications,

Whereas, the Office of the Executive Vice President has unanimously confirmed the recommendation by the Executive Vice President for the position of Chief of Staff,

Whereas, it is customary for the appointments of an Executive officer to be approved by the Legislative Council (Art IV, Sec. B, Sub 3),

Let it be resolved, that Jodi Carlton be confirmed in her title as Chief of Staff to the Executive Vice President and be afforded all privileges associated with such appointment.
