| Date of Presentation: |
|
| Whereas, the University of California system is continually facing fee hikes, budget cuts, and program cuts, including the newly proposed 8% fee increase; Whereas, the UC Education Abroad Program gets hit by these cuts as well, limiting student accessibility and staff dedication to students; Whereas, students have been and continue to participate in actions across the UC system to speak out against fee hikes and cuts; Whereas, students participating in UC EAP are still UC students, and are equally affected by any cuts and fee hikes; Whereas, EAP students have a voice and will not stand to take the brunt of a failing system, even though they are no longer in the United States; Whereas, students participating in EAP wish to stand together and show solidarity with their UC campuses and their fellow UC students; Let it be resolved, that the Legislative Council of ASUCI recognizes and supports the concerns of students participating in EAP programs as standing in solidarity with the UCs they hail from and the entirety of the UC system, and recognizes that they are against proposed fee hikes and program cuts. |
