REQUEST FOR ACTION BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL 
 
All requests may be typed and submitted to the Executive Vice President no later 5:00 p.m. Thursday in order to be included in the agenda for the following Tuesday. The Executive Vice President reserves the right to delay the Request for Action to a later Council session if the Executive Vice President feels the agenda for the next schedule meeting is full.

Synopsis: ByLaw Revision with Advocacy Committee

Whereas, the Legislation R46-99 passed during the 2010-2011 school year to replace
Comittees on committees with Advocacy Committee and,

Whereas, the Advocacy Committee duties are already listed in the ASUCI bylaws,
(Article XIV Sec. A) and,

Whereas, under the bylaws Article X, Section A.2, still lists the four committees as
Rules Committee, Finance Committe, Public Information Committee, and Committee on
Committees, and, 

Whereas, the Committee on Committees needs to be replaced and,

Let it be resolved that the bylaws be read accordingly, (changes indicated in bold):


X. COMMITTEES

A. There shall be four (4) standing Committees: Rules, Finance, Public Information
and Advocacy:

1. Each Council member shall serve on one standing Committee.

2. Each Committee shall be composed of council members as follows (approximately):

Rules Committee: Twenty five percent (25%)
Finance Committee: Twenty five percent (25%)
Public Information Committee: Twenty five percent (25%) 
Advocacy Committee: Twenty five percent (25%)
