REQUEST FOR ACTION BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL 
 
All requests may be typed and submitted to the Executive Vice President no later 5:00 p.m. Thursday in order to be included in the agenda for the following Tuesday. The Executive Vice President reserves the right to delay the Request for Action to a later Council session if the Executive Vice President feels the agenda for the next schedule meeting is full.

Synopsis: UCSA Memo of Understanding

WHEREAS UCSA has partnered with ASUCI on the 2012 ASUCI Referendum and agreed to assist with some of the labor and costs of the campaign;
 
WHEREAS as a member organization, ASUCI is committed to paying dues into the organization at a minimum level of $1.30;
 
WHEREAS these dues are budgeted by the Office of the Executive Vice President and approved by Legislative Council when they approve the annual ASUCI budget;
 
WHEREAS UC Irvine has been an active member of UCSA in recent years and the ASUCI Legislative Council sees its external relations efforts as an immense benefit to UC Irvine students;
 
WHEREAS the current UCSA clause on the ASUCI Initiative Ballot language currently states: "Currently $1.30/year from this fee is allocated to UCSA. Starting in the 2012-13 academic year, one additional dollar from this fee increase per student per quarter will go to the University of California Student Association";
 
LET IT BE RESOLVED that if the 2012 ASUCI Referendum passes, that UC Irvine agrees to fulfill its pledge to UCSA in the amount of $3.30 per fees-paying undergraduate enrolled at UC Irvine annualy after Week 3 of each quarter;
 
LET IF FURTHER BE RESOLVED that if the 2012 ASUCI referendum does not pass, ASUCI agrees to fulfill its pledge to UCSA at its current rate of $1.30 per fees-paying undergraduate student enrolled at UC Irvine annually after Week 3 of each quarter.
 
LET IT FURTHER BE RESOLVED that this memo of understanding will be the replacement for  the UCSA clause on the ASUCI Initiative ballot language.
