REQUEST FOR ACTION BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL 
 
All requests may be typed and submitted to the Executive Vice President no later 5:00 p.m. Thursday in order to be included in the agenda for the following Tuesday. The Executive Vice President reserves the right to delay the Request for Action to a later Council session if the Executive Vice President feels the agenda for the next schedule meeting is full.

Synopsis: ASUCI partnership: Clash of the Cans

 Whereas UCI Parking and Distribution Services leads an annual Clash of the Cans food

drive during the month of November until the holiday break (end of finals week),
 
Whereas all non-perishable food items collected through the course of the drive are
donated to the OC Food Bank with the intention of giving those in need a meal during the
holiday season,
Whereas the goal of the drive is to collect as many cans to donate as possible,
 
Whereas other campus partners that participate in the food drive include Athletics,
Hospitality and Dining, UCI Medical Center, GUSH (Government of Undergraduate
Student Housing), and KUCI,
 
Whereas more campus partners would increase visibility and awareness of the food drive,
adding to the success of the philanthropy project,
 
Let it therefore be resolved that ASUCI join as a partner in the Clash of the Cans food
drive,
 
Let it further be resolved that the flier for the Clash of the Cans food drive will be posted
on the ASUCI website and social media sites,
 
Let it further be resolved that the flier be disseminated through the ASUCI mailing lists,
encouraging persons involved in ASUCI to spread the word and participate in the food
drive,
 
Let it further be resolved that each member of ASUCI Legislative Council will
participate in the Clash of the Cans food drive by bringing in at least one canned food
item to donate on Tuesday, November 27 ASUCI Legislative Council meeting.
