All requests may be typed and submitted to the Executive Vice President no later 5:00 p.m. Thursday in order to be included in the agenda for the following Tuesday. The Executive Vice President reserves the right to delay the Request for Action to a later Council session if the Executive Vice President feels the agenda for the next schedule meeting is full.

Synopsis: Co-sponsor of the Disabilities Community Social

Whereas on March 5, 2013 Legislative Council passed the "Awareness and Solidarity with the Differently Abled Community” legislation that stipulated that “Legislative Council commit to educate Council, students, and Deans of Schools about the issues raised in this legislation during their next meeting.”

 

Whereas Legislative Council members should currently be meeting with their Deans.

 

Whereas Advocacy Committee is currently working on bringing awareness to the UCI community by planning the Disabilities Awareness Week for the Fall 2013 Quarter and other varies events.

 

Let it be resolved that Legislative Council commit to co-sponsor the ASUCI Disabilities Community Liaisons Disabilities Community Social, “an opportunity for social-oriented engagement and community-building for UCI students with disabilities and allies”, held on May 14, 2013 from 7-9pm in Moss Cove A.

 

Let it be further resolved that Legislative Council commit to publicize the event to their constituents and Deans of their respective Schools.
