All requests may be typed and submitted to the Executive Vice President no later 5:00 p.m. Thursday in order to be included in the agenda for the following Tuesday. The Executive Vice President reserves the right to delay the Request for Action to a later Council session if the Executive Vice President feels the agenda for the next schedule meeting is full. |

Whereas, ASUCI Legislative Council is elected and chosen by the UCI student body and;
Whereas, ASUCI Legislative Council should be held to certain standards of conduct;
Let it therefore be resolved, that the 2013-2014 ASUCI Legislative Council pledge to honor the following conduct agreements to the best of their ability:
- Follow Robert’s Rules
- Respect the speaker’s list
- Be respectful of public audience members
- Respond formally to all public speakers
- Recognize speakers’ time
- Be respectful of fellow council members
- Respect time on the floor
- No council member should interrupt another council member/speaker
- Be mindful of body language
- Be conscious of our positions as elected and paid representatives
- Maximize work and time for benefit of students
- To submit legislation on a timley basis in order to promote transparency in our Legislative Council
- Challenge the idea, not the person
- Do not make personal attacks if in disagreement on a topic
- Use inclusive language
- Use gender-neutral language
- Do not use ableist or offensive language
- The Legislative Council Chair, Speaker Pro Tempore, and Rules Committee Chair have authority during Legislative Council meetings
- Be prompt on time and not disruptive to others
- Absences must be made known to the Legislative Council Chair, Speaker Pro Tempore, or respective Committee Chair prior to the Council meeting one will be absent for
- Electronics are to be used for purposes related to ASUCI
- Electronics can be used for communication and research related to ASUCI Legislative Council
Let it finally be resolved that ASUCI Legislative Council members may hold each other accountable to these ethics agreements.
