REQUEST FOR ACTION BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL 
 
All requests may be typed and submitted to the Executive Vice President no later 5:00 p.m. Thursday in order to be included in the agenda for the following Tuesday. The Executive Vice President reserves the right to delay the Request for Action to a later Council session if the Executive Vice President feels the agenda for the next schedule meeting is full.

Synopsis: Continuation of Parking Ad-Hoc Committee

Whereas per R50-90 and ASUCI By-Laws Article XIV, Section A stipulate that the ASUCI Legislative Council Ad-Hoc Committee on Parking is to be reviewed for its continuation for the 2015-16 school year,

 

Whereas through the “Dear Parking” Initiative held by the ASUCI Administrative Affairs Office reaffirmed the fact that the UCI Transportation and Distribution Services requires more transparency and student representation,

 

Whereas this committee is invested and dedicated to advocating for the student interest with regards to parking at UC Irvine,

 

Therefore, let it be resolved that the Parking Committee be renewed for the academic year 2015-16,

 

Let it further be resolved that this committee be composed of: Ariel Barnoy (Legislative Council Speaker Pro Tempore-Designate), Jeremy Arkules (Business Representative), Alexander Fung (Administrative Affairs Vice President-Elect), Parshan Khosravi (President-Elect) and Shannon Tunggal (Legislative Council Intern), with the chair and vice-chair being elected at that meeting,

 

Let it further be resolved that this committee’s meetings be public and open to the student community to allow for them to voice their concerns with parking,

 

Let it finally be resolved that in compliance with the rules stated under ASUCI Bylaws, Article XIV, Section A, the progress of the Parking Committee will be reviewed at the end of the Spring Quarter 2016 to discuss its annual renewal.
