REQUEST FOR ACTION BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL 
 
All requests may be typed and submitted to the Executive Vice President no later 5:00 p.m. Thursday in order to be included in the agenda for the following Tuesday. The Executive Vice President reserves the right to delay the Request for Action to a later Council session if the Executive Vice President feels the agenda for the next schedule meeting is full.

Synopsis: Fall 2014 Elections Date Change
Date of Presentation: October 23rd, 2014
 

 Whereas it is provided for in the ASUCI Elections Code (Art. VII, Sec. A, Sub 4) that Fall Elections will be held during the 8th week of the quarter, and


Whereas it is also provided that the elections shall run Monday-Thursday (see above) for a total of 4 voting days,


Whereas during the Fall Quarter of 2014, the 8th week of classes falls on the week of the Thanksgiving Holiday and it is a University Holiday on both Thursday and Friday of that week,


Whereas it follows the spirit of the ASUCI Elections for candidates to enjoy the full amount of campaign time allowed to candidates of other years,


And whereas elections in Fall 2012 have been moved to accommodate Thanksgiving holidays (R48-13 being the most recent),


Let it be resolved that the ASUCI Fall 2014 Elections be moved to week 9, to be held Monday through Thursday,


Let it further be resolved, that the student body and candidates be notified of this schedule change by means of the elections packet and the ASUCI website,


Let it finally be resolved that these changes only pertain to the Fall elections of 2014.
