REQUEST FOR ACTION BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL 
 
All requests may be typed and submitted to the Executive Vice President no later 5:00 p.m. Thursday in order to be included in the agenda for the following Tuesday. The Executive Vice President reserves the right to delay the Request for Action to a later Council session if the Executive Vice President feels the agenda for the next schedule meeting is full.

Synopsis: SPFB Cross Cultural Member and Deadline Extension

Whereas, the Student Programming and Funding Board (SPFB) Guidelines stipulates that a “Cross Cultural Center member [be] appointed by a majority of the five umbrella organization boards”. [1]

 

Whereas, Legislation Number R49-20 resolved that the selection of such a representative is to be appointed “…by the end of week 5 of the new academic year”. [2]

 

Whereas, the selection of the CCC representative was delayed by the late selection and then further delayed by the replacement of the Chair of the Student Programming Fund Board.

 

Whereas, the current Chair of the Student Programming Funding Board, Arnold Joshua Jalos, accepts the late selection of the Cross Cultural Center representative due to the circumstances.

 

Whereas, Jessica Figueroa has gone through the application and interview process under the Cross Cultural Center Umbrella Intern and the five umbrella organization boards and is committed to serving as their representative for the remainder of the 2014-2015 academic year.

 

Whereas, Jessica is available to attend all the SPFB meetings and is available fulfill all the requirements as Cross Cultural Center Member.

 

Let it be resolved that Jessica Figueroa be appointed the Cross Cultural Center Representative on the Student Programming and Funding Board.

 


Let it further be resolved that the extension to the selection deadline of the end of week 5 be lifted due to unforeseen circumstances this year.
