REQUEST FOR ACTION BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL 
 
All requests may be typed and submitted to the Executive Vice President no later 5:00 p.m. Thursday in order to be included in the agenda for the following Tuesday. The Executive Vice President reserves the right to delay the Request for Action to a later Council session if the Executive Vice President feels the agenda for the next schedule meeting is full.

Synopsis: ASUCI By-Law Amendments: Committee Submitted Legislation Act

Whereas Legislative Council needs to pass their resolutions in a prompt and timely manner, in compliance with ASUCI code, to allow for it to operate with efficiency,

 

Whereas it is the responsibility of the rules committee as per the By-Laws to "review and revise the Council By-Laws, Elections Code, and Judicial Board Procedures" (XI. RULES COMMITTEE - section A-1-a), and

 

Whereas there are redundancies within the ASUCI By-Laws,

 

Therefore, let it be resolved that the ASUCI By-Laws be modified in the following way:

Financial allocations shall be discussed under New Business at the time of their introduction. The Legislative Council shall wait one week or until such time as the bill has been considered by the Finance Committee before taking action on the new bill.
