REQUEST FOR ACTION BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL 
 
All requests may be typed and submitted to the Executive Vice President no later 5:00 p.m. Thursday in order to be included in the agenda for the following Tuesday. The Executive Vice President reserves the right to delay the Request for Action to a later Council session if the Executive Vice President feels the agenda for the next schedule meeting is full.

Synopsis: Creation of The UCI Spartan Project Committee

 Whereas, the UCI Spartan project is a student run competition that allows outside companies to provide challenges for students at UCI with the purpose of creating a new avenue of connecting student talent to professional companies and career paths,

 

Whereas, the UCI Spartan project is a collaboration between ASUCI and the organization indi.com,

 
Whereas, indi.com has played an active role in the progression of this competition, 
 
Whereas, the UCI Spartan project is a competition that will ultimately serve to increase student motivation and performance in their courses,
 
Whereas, the UCI Spartan project needs constant student work and dedication to be completed and become an ongoing year-round program,
 
 

  Whereas, Article IV, Section B, Item 10 states, “[The authority of Legislative Council shall include, but is not limited to] Establish standing or ad hoc committees, i.e. Rules, Finance, Public Information, Special Task Forces, to assist in any legislative recommendations.”, and

 
Therefore let it be resolved that the ASUCI Legislative Council recognizes indi.com as an organization that it will partner with to further develop this project, 
 
And let it be resolved that ASUCI Legislative Council creates an ad-hoc committee for the purpose of working on the project in collaboration with indi.com throughout all of the 2016-2017 year and later if deemed necessary, 
 
And Let it be resolved, that this committee shall be composed of the following members:
3 At-Large Members
1-2 Engineering Senators
2-4 members from indi.com
 
Let it be further resolved that applications for this committee will be opened immediately to select and confirm the members of the committee by the Fall of 2016. 
 
And let it be resolved that this committee will be named "UCI Spartan Project" committee.
