REQUEST FOR ACTION BY THE ASUCI SENATE 
 
All requests may be typed and submitted to the President of the Senate no later 5:00 p.m. Thursday in order to be included in the agenda for the following Tuesday. The President of the Senate reserves the right to delay the Request for Action to a later Senate session if the President of the Senate feels the agenda for the next schedule meeting is full.

Synopsis: Impeachment of an ICS Senator

 Whereas, according to 2015-2016 Legislative Council Attendance Records, the Fall ICS Senator has only attended eleven (11) Legislative Council meetings out of a total of thirty-eight (38) held during his term last year and,

Whereas, this translates into an attendance record of being present at 28.94% of all meetings, discounting the current quarter and,

 

Whereas, there exists a precedent to allow Senators to be excused from Legislative Council/Senate meetings due to class and,

 

Whereas, he seeks to be excused from Senate meetings on both session days of Tuesday and Thursday for his last quarter in office, the 2016 Fall Quarter, and,

 

Whereas, his continued lack of participation in Senate meetings denies his constituents a voice and vote in Senate proceedings, one of the most important duties a Senator must complete, and,

 

Whereas, his absence hurts Senate efforts to meet quorum and hold meetings in a timely fashion and,

 

Whereas, according to 2015-2016 Legislative Council Voting Records, the Fall ICS Senator has not authored any legislation during the entirety of his term and,

 

Let it therefore be resolved that, the ASUCI Senate concludes that the Fall ICS Senator has too many other priorities to properly execute all of the duties expected of him as an elected ASUCI official and,

 

Let it finally be resolved that, the ASUCI Senate impeaches Tej Vuligonda, the Fall ICS Senator based on the aforementioned points against him.
