Whereas, the Office of the Student Advocate General is the body that is in charge of holding ASUCI accountable towards its students and serving as a guide for students to navigate through and offer suggestions about ASUCI, UC, and UCI policies,

Whereas, the Internal Deputy Student Advocate General has the constitutional duty of monitoring and reporting constitutional malfeasance in ASUCI, auditing ASUCI offices and branches, and providing opportunities for students to influence the programming that the organization offers,

Whereas, the External Deputy Student Advocate General has the responsibility of educating the student body on ASUCI, UC, and UCI policies, and serving as a student voice to the ASUCI Senate,

Let it therefore be resolved that the ASUCI By-Laws be amended in the following manner:

Article III., Section A, Clause 1, sub-section a., be amended to read:

“Duly elected or properly appointed Senators, ex-officio non-voting Executive Officers, ex-officio non-voting Student Advocate General, ex-officio non-voting Chief Accountability Officer, ex-officio non-voting External Deputy Student Advocate General, ex-officio non-voting Internal Deputy Student Advocate General, and appointed non-voting members in good standing as defined in Article 6 of the ASU

CI Constitution and by the Registrar.”

Article VI. Finance Committee, Section A, Clause 1, sub-section g., be amended to read:

“The ASUCI President, ASUCI Student Services Vice- President, ASUCI Chief Accountability Officer, and the ASUCI Internal Deputy Student Advocate General shall be non-voting members of the Finance Committee.”

Article VIII. Advocacy Committee/Committee on Committees, Section A, Clause 4, be amended to read:

“The ASUCI President, ASUCI External Vice-President, ASUCI Internal Vice-President, ASUCI Academic Affairs Vice-President, ASUCI External Deputy Student Advocate General, and ASUCI Internal Deputy Student Advocate General shall be non-voting members of the Advocacy Committee/Committee on Committees.”

Article V. Rules Committees, Section A, Clause 2, be amended to read:

“The ASUCI External Vice-President, ASUCI Internal Vice-President, Student Advocate General, Internal Deputy Student Advocate General, Senate Secretary, Senate Parliamentarian, shall be non-voting members of the Rules Committee.”
