REQUEST FOR ACTION BY THE ASUCI SENATE 
 
All requests may be typed and submitted to the President of the Senate no later 5:00 p.m. Thursday in order to be included in the agenda for the following Tuesday. The President of the Senate reserves the right to delay the Request for Action to a later Senate session if the President of the Senate feels the agenda for the next schedule meeting is full.

Synopsis: Judicial Board Associate Justice Appointments

Whereas, there are currently four vacancies on the ASUCI Judicial Board following the termination of Winter Quarter;

Whereas, the ASUCI Constitution outlines Executive Cabinet’s power to “appoint Justices to the Judicial Board, subject to approval by the Senate” in Article 7, Section 2, Subsection (a), Clause (F);

Whereas, the ASUCI Senate convened and interviewed nominated applicants on March 16, 2017;

Whereas, the ASUCI Senate discussed the merits and qualifications of nominated applicants;

Whereas, the ASUCI Constitution states that the Senate may “confirm by a 2/3 vote, or reject nominations to the Judicial Board” in Article 6, Section 2, Subsection (m), Clause (1);

Whereas, the ASUCI Senate approves of the appointments of Roxana Bokaei and Aviel Menter;

Therefore, let it be resolved that Roxana Bokaei and Aviel Menter are appointed seats to serve as Judicial Board Associate Justices until the conclusion of Spring Quarter, 2019.
