The President of the Senate reserves the right to delay the Request for Action to a later Senate session if the President of the Senate feels the agenda for the next schedule meeting is full. |

| Synopsis: Impeachment of Oliver Flores as Student Advocate General | |

| Whereas, the ASUCI Student Advocate General is an elected officer of ASUCI per the ASUCI Governing Documents, Whereas, the Student Advocate General Authorities and Powers are outlined in Article 9, Section 3 of the ASUCI Constitution, Whereas, Oliver Flores was appointed to be the ASUCI Student Advocate General for the 2016-17 year, Whereas, Oliver Flores has not met with any student organizations to establish the presence of the ASUCI Student Advocate General office, Whereas, Oliver Flores has not attended any meetings within ASUCI, such as ASUCI Senate Meetings or ASUCI Executive Officer Meetings, Whereas, Oliver Flores has not participated in Student Conduct Board Training and Ombudsman training in Conflict Mediation at the first available opportunity after their appointment as outlined in the ASUCI Constitution [1], Whereas, Oliver Flores has not made an effort to reach out to students to receive, investigate, and address student complaints in regards to ASUCI [2], Whereas, Oliver Flores has not responded to students in regards to receiving, investigating, and addressing complaints [2], Whereas, Oliver Flores has not appointed the Chief Accountability Officer, subject to Senate confirmation, was outlined in the Constitution under the duties and responsibilities of the Student Advocate General [3]; Whereas, the Joint Committee on Student Representatives has been unable to convene because there is no Chief Accountability Officer to chair the committee; Whereas, Oliver Flores has not made an attempt to convene the Joint Committee on Transparency which is his duty as chair; Whereas, Oliver Flores has only met with the ASUCI Executive Director only once throughout the 2016-17 school year [4], Whereas, Oliver Flores has only reviewed two student reports in fall quarter and responded to them by directing them to other organizations instead of conducting full investigations, Whereas it is essential for the Student Advocate General’s office to continue its duties as outlined in the ASUCI Constitution, Whereas, in order to do so it is imperative that an interim Student Advocate General be appointed to carry out these duties, Whereas, the Office of the Student Advocate General currently consists of the Internal Deputy Student Advocate General and the External Deputy Student Advocate general who helps carry out these duties under their own constitutional responsibilities and should have the greatest understanding and institutional knowledge of the office, Whereas, the External Deputy Student Advocate General, Auzzsa Eaton, has successfully and consistently carried out her duties in the constitution and has even taken on the responsibility of chairing the ad-hoc committee, Whereas, the lack of effort and continued absence of Oliver Flores as Student Advocate General has contributed towards a reduction in upholding the office’s purpose of maintaining accountability within the ASUCI Office, Therefore, let it be resolved that the ASUCI Senate concludes that the current Student Advocate General, Oliver Flores, has not properly executed all of the duties expected of them as an ASUCI official within the ASUCI Constitution,
Let it be resolved that the ASUCI Senate impeaches Oliver Flores as the Student Advocate General based on the aforementioned counts against him,
Let it be resolved that the ASUCI Senate relieves Oliver Flores of all power and responsibilities as the Student Advocate General until the final judgement of his impeachment hearing.
Let it finally be resolved that Auzzsa Eaton, the External Deputy Student Advocate General, be recommended by the ASUCI Senate to assume the position of Interim Student Advocate General until a new Student Advocate General is appointed after the ratification of a special election for the position, as outlined by the ASUCI Elections Code. ….
