REQUEST FOR ACTION BY THE ASUCI SENATE 
 
All requests may be typed and submitted to the President of the Senate no later 5:00 p.m. Thursday in order to be included in the agenda for the following Tuesday. The President of the Senate reserves the right to delay the Request for Action to a later Senate session if the President of the Senate feels the agenda for the next schedule meeting is full.

Synopsis: Engineering Student Council's P-council Senator Seat

Whereas, Engineering Student Council (ESC) is the existing Engineering student body for the Henry Samueli School of Engineering,

 

Whereas ESC hosts social and academic events for undergraduate and graduate Engineering students, as well as faculty, including E-Week, Art of Engineering, Research Fairs, Industry Nights, and many more,

 

Whereas ESC encourages all Engineering Student Organizations (ESOs) to collaborate together in hosting events and projects,

 

Whereas, at least one executive board member of each ESO is required to attend the one hour P-Council meetings once a week, for at least 75% of the quarter to discuss updates on projects and events,

 

Whereas, the current ASUCI Engineering Senator, Yasmeen Abuzeid has been attending P-Council meetings throughout the 2017 Spring Quarter as the ASUCI Engineering Senator,

 

Whereas, having an ASUCI Senator position will strengthen the ties between the senator and Engineering students so that the senator is able to effectively voice the students’ ideas and opinions,

 

Therefore, let it be resolved that an ASUCI Senator position is available in ESC President’s Council for the current and future ASUCI Engineering Senator(s),

 

Let it further be resolved that future ASUCI Engineering Senator(s) make(s) the effort to attend P-Council meetings if their time allows.
