Synopsis: Culturally Accommodating Food on Campus
Date of Presentation: 6/8/17

Whereas, the University of California, Irvine has a large international student demographic, comprising of about 15 % of the student body [1]

Whereas, many international students find it difficult to find culturally accommodating food on campus, which increases their susceptibility to food insecurity.

Whereas, the food options on campus (the food courts, Anteatery, etc) are limiting in their food options, especially for students with special or culturally sensitive diets.

Now, therefore, let it be resolved that the Associated Students of the University of California Irvine advocates for the University of California, Irvine to make moves to provide more culturally sensitive food options on campus.

Be it further resolved that ASUCI recommends that the University of California, Irvine provide alternative food options for international students in the time being.
