REQUEST FOR ACTION BY THE ASUCI SENATE 
 
All requests may be typed and submitted to the President of the Senate no later 5:00 p.m. Thursday in order to be included in the agenda for the following Tuesday. The President of the Senate reserves the right to delay the Request for Action to a later Senate session if the President of the Senate feels the agenda for the next schedule meeting is full.

Synopsis: Reinstate the use of audio record/video recordings during ASUCI Senate meeting

Whereas, there used to be video recordings of Senate meetings, and

Whereas, Senators should be held accountable for the things they say in meeting, and

Whereas, in an effort to ensure transparency in ASUCI, and

Whereas, there has been complaints about the lack of transparency in ASUCI, and

Whereas, some students cannot attend Senate meeting from Tuesday and Thursdays 5-7pm, and

Whereas, students have the right to know exactly what we do in meetings, and

Whereas, UC Berkeley’s senate meetings have livestreams of their meetings, and

Whereas, the minutes are not completely accurate because, even with the best of their ability, the Senate Secretary is human and cannot record everything in the minutes, and

Therefore, let it be resolved that we reinstate the use of audio and/or video recordings of ASUCI Senate meetings.
