REQUEST FOR ACTION BY THE ASUCI SENATE |

All requests may be typed and submitted to the President of the Senate no later 5:00 p.m. Thursday in order to be included in the agenda for the following Tuesday. The President of the Senate reserves the right to delay the Request for Action to a later Senate session if the President of the Senate feels the agenda for the next schedule meeting is full. |

| WHEREAS, In the Spring 2018 Elections, a number of persons who were candidates for ASUCI office also acted as signers on behalf of a club or organization to endorse candiates and/or slates,
WHEREAS, This caused a delay in ratification of the Elections Results for the Spring 2018 General Election,
WHEREAS, This may raise questions regarding ethical conduct and a signer being able to so endorse themselves or a slate without approval of their club as a whole,
THEREFORE LET IT BE RESOLVED, that Article XIV, Section G of the Elections Code be amended so as to add the following:
2. No person who is a candidate for office may sign off on or otherwise approve an endorsement for a candidate on behalf of a club or organization, unless the person shall have, first, presented proof to the Elections Commission that all signers for a club or organization are candidates for ASUCI office.
THEREFORE LET IT BE RESOLVED, that Article XIX, Section F of the Elections Code be amended so as to add the following:
1. No person who is a candidate for office may sign off on or otherwise approve an endorsement for a slate on behalf of a club or organization, unless the person shall have, first, presented proof to the Elections Commission that all signers for a club or organization are candidates for ASUCI office.
THEREFORE LET IT BE RESOLVED, that Article XXI, Section C of the Elections Code be amended so as to add the following:
11. Endorsing or approving an endorsement of a candidate or slate on behalf of a club or organization when one is simultaneously a candidate for ASUCI Office and the club or organization had one or more approved signers who was not standing for ASUCI office.
