REQUEST FOR ACTION BY THE ASUCI SENATE 
 
All requests may be typed and submitted to the President of the Senate no later 5:00 p.m. Thursday in order to be included in the agenda for the following Tuesday. The President of the Senate reserves the right to delay the Request for Action to a later Senate session if the President of the Senate feels the agenda for the next schedule meeting is full.

Synopsis: Appointment of Senate President Chief of Staff

Whereas, the position of ASUCI Senate President Chief of Staff is currently unfilled and,

Whereas, the chief of staff is a crucial aid of Senate President's ability to accurately and wholly carry out duties to uphold order of the Senate and,

 

Whereas, according to the ASUCI By-Laws Section B(a) "Senate of the President job descriptions and duties" (10) "Shall have the ability to appoint members to Senate as they see necessary/fit (including Senate Directors, Aides, Fellows, Deputies, Chiefs of Staffs, etc.,)," 

Whereas, the President of the Senate conducted a search and interviewed an applicant for the position and,


Whereas, the Judicial Board ruling on R53-25 states that the Senate is “authorized to allow ex-officio participation as well, including contributing to debate and motions,”

Let it therefore be resolved that, Kimo Gandall be appointed as the Senate President Chief of Staff for the remainder of the 2017 - 2018 academic year.
