  1. R49-81 Regarding the Hiring of the New Payroll Position (15 min)

    4. Dom- it is concerning that professional staff did this without notifying exec

      1. we found out on accident when more funding was being allocating

      2. they said they got the student front desk workers for input, not legislative council, judicial board, and exec

    5. Nicol Hisatomi- we found out about applications online after the already posted them

      1. they had spoke to exec before finals and after the application was posted

      2. they allowed exec to go to interviews

      3. they said they were going to hire people for next year

        1. that doesn’t mean that we can’t not hire them

        2. I don’t think that this is feasible because the funds aren’t there

      4. professional staff said that this was necessary

      5. we are paying someone 2000 a month to have someone do our payroll

      6. total cost for new person would be $36,000 a year

    6. Grecia Cruz- I support this legislation, but who would be contacted to call for a hault

      1. Dom Doan- it would be like we come together and say that we don’t agree and then funding wouldn’t be available

    7. Lauren Kerner- I suggest a friendly amendment to approve syntax to the legislation; “let it be further resolved that professional staff find an alternate method to improving the function and effectiveness of ASUCI than hiring a potential new staff member”

      1. Adrienne Credo- friendly amendment to change winter quarter to spring quarter

      2. Patrick Chen- SBFB would allocate the rest the rest of the money and the excess would be paid for with reserve

        1. allocating 38,000 dollars more

        2. otherwise would become deficit spending

      3. Dom Doan- make a friendly amendment and talk about how running out of money is a good thing

      4. Patrick Chen- 38,000 is just a safe number and if all of the money is not spent it will go to reserves anyways

        1. this requires ¾ of council to agree

        2. then it will be forwarded to finance committee

    2. Tony Tizcareno- the Newport route was funded fully and there was an additional cart bought and thats where the money was spent

      1. I would like to see it go towards Park West, there are a lot of student from there

      2. need one legislative council member to sit on the board

  1. Tony Tizcareno- wanted to have infographic for parents to see to explain where housing money is going

    1. dining team wants to work with uci dining to highlight what they are doing

    2. parking; we want to have week of transportation to have interactive tabling

    3. chancellor meeting

      1. we want a chancellor that recognizes campus climate issues

      2. one who recognizes out right to protest

    4. ASUCI elections are happening

  2. Dom Doan- we will have baseball rally with free food and hats; Friday April 11th

    1. we have been getting a lot of sponsors

    2. prepping for soulstice and selling tickets
