I. Bureaucratic Procedure

    1. motion to approve Matt Tsai/ Alex Fung

  4. Approval of Agenda

    1. motion to amend to include following items before legislation writing time Matt Tsai/ Alex Fung

      1. 15 min discussion in addition to by law amendment for reallocation of payroll funds to unallocated

      2. 10 min discussion for resizement of representative spots

  1. Soar

    1. motion to open discussion Matt Tsai/ Alex Fung

      1. Alex Fung- one of the legislation written to support SOAR was struck down by J- Board

        1. we want to make this subject to executive veto

      2. Alvin Pham- maybe the could publish these strikes online

      3. Alex Fung- I’m curious about working time lines

        1. J Board representative- no allowed to comment on internal procedure

          1. we follow all judicial board procedures

      4. Matt Tsai- does 2 weeks seems feasible to make a ruling

        1. Representative- I feel that it would depend

          1. may not be appropriate in every case

  2. Payroll Reallocation

      1. Matt Tsai- we have had vacancies on council and no one has been receiving stipends for them

        1. we want to move this money into unallocated for events

      2. Lauren Kerner- I think thats a great idea

      3. Skyla Zhang- I do feel that this is a good idea because we haven't been full all year

        1. we can ask Robert how much is being utilized

        2. we have around 5,000 left

      4. Matt Tsai- I would say to leave a certain amount and then move the rest

      5. Skyla Zhang- were there any particular events that you wanted to do

    2. Resiszement of council members

      1. motion to open discussion for 15 min with 2 min speaking time

        1. Alex Fung- enrollment for each school has changed and we need to resize based on that

          1. school of humanities have experienced a decrease in enrollment; ratio is 2000 to 1 council member

        2. Matt Tsai- this wouldn't affect current seats

          1. health sciences- it is not an official school, so it is considering not offering a seat

        3. Alvin Pham- college of health sciences was dissolved in 2011

          1. I used to be in pharmacy department and it is very different than biological sciences

        4. J Board Representative- constitutionally there has to be a seat for each academic unit

          1. health sciences is now three different departments

          2. you can create three separate seats

        5. Alvin Pham- if we created a seat for nursing science wouldn't that be overrepresentation

          1. J Board Rep- there is inherently inequity in some representations

            1. we are bound to follow constitution

        6. Skyla Zhang- I think that the health science seats has been empty all year

          1. we should evaluate the importance of every seat

  • Skyla Zhang

    • we have a controversial speaker coming and there will be a great debate

      • RSVP will be required to attend

    • Bio Sci week is coming up soon and will be a week long event

      • the events will be made public

      • May 22nd and the shuttle should be running

    • applications are due for academic office very soon

  • Matt Tsai- At Large is meeting with Dean Salinger and she applies to all schools and has considerable influence

  • Skyla Zhang- the end of the year banquet is soon

    • it is a formal event

    • there will be fancy food and dessert
