  • Executive Officer Reports
    • President: This was our first year doing “dorm storming” where we registered first year students to vote. We still need a representative for TAIC Committee, the application is available, contact me with questions.
    • Internal V.P: We are still doing event planning for National Hunger and Homelessness Week. ASUCI will be planning the advocacy portions of the week, while other campus partners will be doing community based outreach. This should all take place week 8 of the quarter. 5:22
    • Student Services V.P: Shocktoberfest has sold out.
    • External V.P: This past weekend there was a UCSA meeting. We discussed three campaigns: Mental Health (#howareyou), UC Sustain Our Students, and Reignite.

  • Old Business
    • Hong: We need a couple of senators to be on the e-tech committee, which deals with keeping technology up-to-date with ASUCI needs. 5:27
  • New Business
    • Hong: Senator Vuligonda has resigned, so Thursday’s legislation will be withdrawn.
    • Office of Internal V.P. Budget Report

§  Internal V.P. Carazzco presents on the expenditures of his office.

§  Carazzco speaks about the various committees which need funds, ie: Anteaters in Acton Committee, which is a community service commission.

§  Hong: Point of interest, Please let us know when there are events with this commission so we can let our constituents know if they are interested.

§  Carazzco: We will have an event where we put together care packages ata homeless shelter in Santa Ana.

§  Carazzco discusses Legal Clinic Commission and Food Security Commission which is involved in the planning of the week 8 event for National Hunger and Homelessness week.

    • Office of Student Services V.P. Budget Report 5:37

§  Student Services VP Chirigotis presents on expenditures of his office.

§  Chirigotis: The major events we have spent on are Welcome Week, with the Anteater Involvement Fair, Aldrich After Dark, and the World Record Event.

§  Chirigotis: We had many sponsors for the events like the World Record Dodgeball event (New Egg, Dave and Busters, UTC Apartments, Ikea, Lyft…)

§  Funds were spent on advertising mainly, ie posters, flyers, and anteater express posters.

§  The entertainment for Aldrich After Dark, Blackbear, cost around $8,000. We are still waiting on invoices and bills from facilities we used.

·       R52-10: Appointment of Student Programming funding board

§  Hong: SPFB- is the funding chair that allocates money to clubs on campus to improve the campus culture.

§  La: Motion to call into question R52-10/ Second: Trinh

  • Senate Intern Program Report
    • Introduction of the five new Senate Interns.

  • Trinh: Motion to go into committee breakouts for 15 minutes/ Second: Mousa
    • Rules
      • We are working on amending the by-laws so that if senators do not meet certain requirements, ie attendance, they will not be awarded their stipend.
      • We are also looking into the appointment and interviewing process of Judicial Board applicants.
    • Finance
      • B52-01 passes 3-0-0

    • Public Information
      • We are working on apparel for senate, as well as maps so that our constituents can easily find us (senators).
    • Advocacy
      • Still working on contacting Cross Cultural Groups.
