School of Biological Sciences

Pronouns:

She/Her/Hers

Major/Minor/Year:

I am a fourth year Biological Sciences major!

Personal Facts/Passions:

I am a first generation transfer student from San Diego! I love rats, dogs, and dogs that look like rats. Lately I have been making everyone I have ever met rewatch the Twilight series with me and have been achieving minor Tik Tok success. Also I am a LARC tutorial leader this year so if you’re taking Bio 97 in the fall hit me up for some study tips!

Goals For 2021-2022:

This year has presented new and unique challenges in regards to how we navigate the world. It was already important that we have a student government that represents student interest and advocates for fairness in university labor practices, but now it is more important than ever. Covid-19 has shined a light on the inequities that exist on our campus and I plan on using my position as a senator to make this difficult year easier on students from all backgrounds. My goal for this year is to represent students in need of financial, housing, and mental health assistance as well as push for anti-racism, police reform, and the acknowledgement of union demands on campus. In addition, I want to advocate for students within the School of Biological Sciences and do everything within my power to address the shortage of labs students need to graduate.

Why did you join ASUCI?:

I joined ASUCI because I want to help create an environment for students and workers to thrive in. For this to happen, our campus must be a safe and accommodating space for people of all backgrounds. I want UCI to be a place where anyone can easily find a home in no matter what.

Standing Committee/Other ASUCI Positions:

I am part of the advocacy committee!

Pronouns:

She/Her/Hers

Major/Minor/Year:

3rd year Biological Sciences Major and International Studies Minor

Personal Facts/Passions:

I love listening to music and making cute sticker artwork during my free time. I recently got into TV show watching again (unfortunately) and I am also trying to read more. I am also a research assistant at the WMLab and muscle immunology lab, so hit me up if you need lab tips or want to talk about your lab gossip *wink* *wink*. When I am stressed, I like to practice violin and vibe to k-pop!

Goals For 2021-2022:

As we revamp into the school year and adopt to new modes of learning (again), my goal along with my partner Sandra, is to start up an BioSci book rental library as many of the undergraduate biology book are unfortunately custom made to UCI thus many are unable to rent them online.

Why did you join ASUCI?:

I joined ASUCI my first year as an intern for the Sustainability and Garden Commission. I enjoy contributing to the community that I am apart of and being in ASUCI give me the opportunities to do so. I also believe that anyone can make a difference and to spread this message, I have to be the example first.

Standing Committee/Other ASUCI Positions:

I am currently part of the Rules Committee.
