UC I Decide

2020 Census:  https://my2020census.gov/

Students, please use your pre-quarantine address!

What is it?

  • The 2020 Census counts every person living in the United States, including immigrants and undocumented people
  • It is a simple questionnaire with 9 questions

  • It determines items such as government funding ($20,000 per person over 10 years!), political representation, water distribution, and so much more

How do I do it?

  • You can fill it out online (at https://2020census.gov/) or via mail.
    • If not, a census worker will come to your door and have you fill it out.
  • You can also call in to participate.
  • It is encouraged to write where you may be residing on April 1st, 2020
  • You only fill out 1 per household. If you live with roommates or your parents, only 1 person fills it out for everyone.

  • Your privacy matters. Every employee takes an oath to protect your personal information for life. The law ensures that your private information is never published and that your answers cannot be used against you by any government agency or court.
  • There will be no questions about citizenship
